Conveyancing for selling a business in NSW
Unlike selling residential land you do not require a Contract for Sale of business before advertising your business for sale in NSW.
Once you have negotiated the sale of the business with your buyer, you should contact Boyd Conveyancing Services to have a contract prepared for the sale.
Boyd Conveyancing Services will prepare and discuss conditions that may be prudent in preparing your contract. Some examples of conditions are restrictions on trade, lease of premises, fixtures included with the sale and other items that will be detrimental to the sale of the business.
Boyd Conveyancing Services will submit the contract to the purchasers for their approval and execution. Upon exchange of contracts, there will be a period between exchange and settlement where the purchaser should submit transfer forms and documents to transfer the business to them.
Boyd Conveyancing Services will organise for cheques at settlement of the business sale in accordance with your instructions and shall deposit funds into a nominated account. You are not required to attend settlement of the sale.
